I design complex products that teams can actually ship.

  • First design hire at Sendoso. Seed stage to a $100M Series C, and a design team of 12+.
  • Founding design team at Zension, backed by a $30M Series A, and the only designer on Zaam.

Work that shows the decisions, not just the screens.

Five projects. Each shows what constrained the work, the decisions I made, what I got wrong, and what ultimately shipped.

How I work when the product is hard.

Six things I do on every project. Four of them are described by people I worked with, in their words.

I design what happens when it breaks

Failed payments, partial refunds, expired authentication, runs that die halfway through. At Integry I designed the error notifications, retry and abort behaviour alongside the build experience.

I research before I draw anything

Competitor analysis and user testing come first. A card sort with 69 participants at Sendoso. Usability and A/B testing on Maze at Integry. On KnowMe I validated demand before design started.

I worked with Umair … creating the company’s first Usability Testing.
Yume Sato, Product Designer at Sendoso

I lead the process from start to finish

At Integry I led design end to end alongside a product manager, mentored a junior designer, and designed the Flow Builder myself. At Zension I lead a cross-functional team of five to six across partner programmes.

He understands the requirements and he’s great at designing a product as per the user’s needs.
Fatima Ashfaq, Customer Success Manager at Integry

I leave a practice behind, not just files

Sendoso had no usability testing when I arrived. I introduced it, wrote the hypotheses with UX research, ran the studies, and built the clickable prototypes they depended on.

Umair not only helped me brainstorm for, but also mount and launch the company’s first usability test for its features.
Grace Tran, UX Researcher at Sendoso

I start work before anyone asks for it

The Sendoso navigation rebuild began as my own exploration. It reached the product roadmap after I presented the findings to leadership, then went to a feature-flag beta with 15 customers.

I was delighted that he was involved in helping pioneer usability testing at Sendoso, and in helping shift our entire org towards a more user-first product lens.
Matt Samson, Head of User Research at Sendoso

I credit the idea to whoever had it

The lifecycle model that shaped Integry’s Flow Builder was the Head of Product’s idea, backed by the CEO. I turned it into a structure people could navigate. Knowing which part was mine matters.

Fourteen years, mostly as the first or only designer.

Sendoso

Senior Product Designer · First design hire

Joined at seed stage as the only designer and stayed an individual contributor as the team grew past 12. Built the design system, 300+ screens, and the company’s first usability testing practice.

San Francisco

Venexel Technologies

Senior → Lead UI/UX Designer

Joined as a Senior UI/UX Designer and was promoted to Lead, managing two designers across web and mobile work for international clients. Built the brand and launch sites for Circles, then Liberty Wireless, in Singapore, and designed Viaesys, a winter road monitoring system that has run at viaesys.com since 2014.

Lahore

I learned design by having to handle the whole problem.

I began in Lahore in 2012 at a small studio. The work moved from identity design to government portals, sometimes in the same day. That taught me to see a product as more than its interface.

In 2014, at Venexel, I built the brand identity, the launch websites and the retail collateral, down to the SIM cards and the store signage, for a Singapore telecom startup then called Liberty Wireless. It launched as Circles.Life and is now Circles, a telco software group whose platform runs digital brands for operators including KDDI in Japan.

In 2018 I joined Sendoso as its first designer. The company was at seed stage and I was the only person doing design. I built the design system, introduced the first usability testing practice, and stayed an individual contributor as the team grew past 12. By the time I left, Sendoso had raised more than $152 million across five rounds, including a $100 million Series C led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2.

I moved to Dubai and worked across integrations, vacation ownership, device subscriptions, fintech and travel. At Integry I led design for the Flow Builder; at Zension I became the sole designer on Zaam; and on contract I designed ClubHub and a bilingual travel platform for Egypt’s largest private-sector bank. Each is now live.

Outside product workI’m a long-distance runner and the founder of GetSetWell, a Dubai-first platform connecting people with independent fitness trainers.
